Las Vegas, Part 2

Inside the Rio Casino. We came back from Zion during the great rain of 1999, In Vegas, they got 2.5" of rain in an hour. They normally only get 4.5" per year. When we got back to Las Vegas, we went to the Rio because the traffic was in gridlock with many streets flooded. As we walked into the Rio, they were playing the song "Let It Rain." They had a special tape for rainy days!

This is the New York, New York Casino. Yes, that is their roller coaster winding around the front.

Here's the MGM Grand which I believe is the largest hotel on the strip. You can probably put 4 football fields inside the main lobby!

The Masquerade Show Sky Floats at the Rio Casino. The floats hang from the ceiling.

Sorry, the shots are somewhat blurred (first time using a digital camera). Left them in so you could get an idea what the floats looked like.

Inside the Luxor Casino. This is the Attractions level.

Remember that this is inside a pyramid. See how the sides are sloping in.

The front of the Luxor. The pyramid is 3/4 the size of the largest Egyptian  pyramid. That's pretty amazing since the Luxor is 30-some stories high! The hotel also includes two towers of rooms to the right.
