We arrived late on Friday, retired early, and decided to get an early start on Saturday. They have a six mile route running through the town where they plant tulips in the median which they call Tulip Lane. Marian and I walked about four miles of the Tulip Lane. To our surprise, no one was walking the route and very few cars and buses were driving along the route. The variety of tulips was vast. The flowers were covered with dew and the lighting was great.
These were the largest tulips we saw. They were about six feet high!
This is what the typical median looks like.
A carnival was set up in the middle of the city.
