Holland Pond, River Bends Park, March 2005


This is a section of a park about 5 miles from our house that we never had been at before. From the road, I noticed the heron nests while I was going to another park. Well, Marian and I have a new favorite park (at least for now) that is only 5 miles from our house.


These are great blue herons. Often, they fold their neck up as in the previous picture. Here he has it extended.


  


This one is flying in to his mate.


  


  


That's another one going to get some nesting material.


  


  


  


  


That is a muskrat in the lower left.
