The Snowfest turned into a "Slushfest" this year with record breaking high
temperatures. It was 43° when we went on Saturday. The high temperatures caused
more problems too. The Bavarian Inn has a series of fields were
they normally have overflow parking. With all the snow melting and the
unfrozen ground, no one could park in the fields. This caused a real parking shortage. The snow and ice sculptures were melting too. Most of
the detail work had melted off and 5-10 percent of the sculptures had partially
fallen down. Still, there were many interesting sculptures and as usual, the chicken
dinner was great.
They have horse drawn carriages, old car, and bus rides available.
The head on this one has broken and is leaning backward.
