Hartwick Pines State Park, MI 10/03

We went to Hartwick for an overnight trip. The park is located close to Grayling in the middle of the lower peninsula. It was very pretty but we missed the fall color change.

There is a scenic dirt trail within the park. It's about 8 miles long.

There is a logging museum. They used this rig to move large logs by hanging them from the axle.

A bunk house

They used this to pack the snow down. Then, they would pour water onto the snow and slide the logs on it.

Here is an early snow plow.

Sprinkler Sled used to ice the logging roads.
