Olympic National Park is like three parks rolled into one: mountainous, temperate rain forest, and ocean beach.
The first day we didn't get to our hotel until late and were unable to visit the park. The second morning, Eric and I got up early and went to Hurricane Ridge for the sunrise. This was quite an accomplishment since the ridge was 45 minutes away. We actually got there about a half hour before sunrise!
The clouds started coming over the top of our mountain. There weren't any other people here.
I though I saw a deer.
Like I said, no people just deer.
A buck.
There were wild flowers by the entrance sign.
This is a blue grouse. As you can see, they aren't afraid of people.
The next morning it was even foggier.
Can you tell we are standing in one of the most scenic spots in Olympic National Park?
We went over to the start of the Hurricane Hill trail.
The trees were loaded with moisture from the fog.
