Arches is one of our favorite parks. There is a lot to color, has good hikes, and is
one of the most friendly places around. The average high temperature is September is supposed to be 86 but it was over 100 every day. The town of Moab is about 4
miles from the park and it's the friendliest town that we've been in. The town has really grown over the years but they still treat you like gold. This is sunrise in the park.
Balanced Rock
The walls are thin. Many look like they are less than 5 or 10 feet thick!
Three Gossips
The windows
Balanced Rock
The rock is being undercut here. Note that the top of the undercutting is orange in color. It almost looks like a road crew was marking the areas to repair.
This is looking from just inside the park entrance towards Moab. As soon as you enter the park, you go up a series of switchbacks.
You can see faces and designs in many of the rocks.
It was bright and sunny most of the time.
Sheep Rock (although, it always looks like a lion to me).
Note the small arch on the right side.
The Three Gossips
Take a second look at the sign! Don't see anything? Better take another look.
