We're
near the last lookout heading north. As you can see, the colors are fading as we leave this section.
The lookout used to extend to the end but an earthquake narrowed it.
You'll want a nice pair of binoculars. We've got a wide-angle 10x pair and love them.
We're tired but loving it.
The osprey nests
are right in the center (somewhere). You see them, don't you? (If you do, let me know where they are.)
It's a long, long way down.
Note the trail on the lower left. We're going down there in a few minutes.
It's getting a little colder.
Boy, it's a long way. We stopped a few times on the way up.
Most of the lookouts to
the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone are well below the rim. So, you hike down quite a ways. This one had a lot of stairs.
and more . . .
and more . . .
Someday we'll make it to the top!
This is the upper falls from far away.
