| Algonquin Provincial Park | Algonquin Provincial Park | Algonquin, oldest and most famous of Ontario's parks, dominates the south-central provincial map, a vast landscape of maple hills, rocky ridges, spruce bogs, and blue lakes. Most of the park can only be seen by hiking or canoeing except for a 60 km. stretch along the southern border. You can see lots of moose in the last week of May and first week of June. Best viewing is very early in the morning. Bad: black flies. | |

| Point Pelee National Park | Canadian Parks | A 10-kilometre sand strip stretching as far south as the northern border of California, contains one of Canada's smallest but most unusual national parks. A thin triangle jutting into Lake Erie at the southernmost point of Canada, the 20 square kilometer landscape boasts a unique blend of vegetation in the marshes, jungle-like Carolinian forest, Savannah grasslands and unpredictable beachfront, supporting a complexity of wildlife. In May, over 150 bird species migrate through the park. In September, butterfly and bird migration. Nearby is Jack Miner's Bird Sanctuary. |

| Toronto Zoo | Toronto Zoo | A huge zoo with an amazing collection of animals. We were there in the summer and there definitely isn't enough shade trees. Since I like taking photos of the animals, I was disappointed that many of the displays are inside and there is low lighting. Plan on 2 days to see everything. |
